In 1913 navy review, HMAS Australia, the very first flagship of Royal Australian Navy, headed the flotilla accompanied by six other sister ships: HMAS Melbourne, Sydney, Encounter, Warrego, Parramatta and Yarra. Sydney residents, standing by the harbour foreshore, cheered for this milestone of newly born nation. This was the historic moment representing Australia formally in charge of securing its own vast coastline of many thousand miles officially.

Fast forward into the future in 2113, can you try to imagine what the RAN's third Centenary Fleet Review in Sydney harbor will be like? Apart from the enthusiastic crowd of spectators along the coastline of Sydney harbor foreshore, our attention will be on the naval ships of the future.
What will the navy ships be like 100 years later from now? The first thing that strikes the time travelers in 2113 is that the navy vessels will not be what we know as in 21st century. All the naval "ships" have streamline body similar to a stingray. Why? Because any future navy ship must be able to carry out three performances in terms of "missions".
- Fly. Going to destination as a flying vehicle at subsonic speed above the ocean.
- Sail. like a boat on water.
- Submarine type. Under the water to be concealed from hostile opponents.
Future navy warships don't have deck mounted weaponry such as naval artillery guns. Future navy boat must be able to fly like a plane, sailing like a boat and submerged like a submarine. Likewise, all the weapon will be launched with a platform of mobility and be independently self engaging before any hostile object is within the close range of mother vessels. Future naval fighting power must be VTOL, airborne warfare unitslaunched by mother ship similar to aircraft carriers nowadays. These airborne units have energy engagement accessories such as explosive projectiles, which can be fired by airborne units within the close range of enemy targets. There will be machine guns carried by such drones like VTOL, either controlled by crew of battle officers remotely, or robotic controlled by AI system. Crew onboard may never see any enemy. Before destroying enemy target with human beings onboard, a navel battle could be the fighting of unmanned VTOL units in the radius of hundreds of miles on the open sea. If any drone survived, it will be recalled by the mother ship, which is similar to a naval fighter pilot going back to aircraft carrier today. It is impossible for human pilot to fly inside such superior airborne machines because they maneuver from completely stationary to hyper-sonic at 5 to 10 Mach, of which the G force will kill any human being onboard during a fierce battle. Whenever necessary, a drone can become a Kamikaze style weapon to impact enemy target without hesitation. Future army has no clear division by its functions like today. There will be no air force, land infantry, navy similar to what we see today.
How energy efficiency and technologies advance will change the military of the future. How potentially the future warfare carried out on ocean? Why there will be integration from three basic types of arm forces into one? First class army must be based on platform of fly and hide. As such, conventional sea vessels are simply too clumsy to survive. Many weapons, divisions, functionality and logical components in navy today will disappear. In terms of energy supply, future navy ship will have small nuclear fuel as original fuel. All the energy will be supplied by a few kg of fuel rod, which will be transferred to hydrocarbon medium to continuously convert CO2 in to fuel and oxygen. Truly ZERO emission. Better off, human beings will find it too hard to win a battle on sea, land and in the air. So we stop killing each other and live happily in peace.
