Human powered VTOL
Description Of The Project

VTOL is the acronyms of Vertical Take off Landing. Helicopter is one type of VTOL using propellers and engine to control vehicle take off/landing and fly. This technology is widely commercialized. Jet propulsion VTOL X13, first developed by Ryan Aeronautical, funded by US Navy from 1947 to 1950, made short demonstration of flight but never made into commercial production. Harrier jump Jet delivered 824 aircraft to RAF and US air force. Current Lockheed Martin F-35 is the next generation of fighter jet with SVTOL capacity. Human powered aircraft, success fixed wings version and propeller version have their respective challenge. For example, Igor I. Sikorsky Human Powered Helicopter Competition, a prize offered by American Helicopter Society (AHS) International, aims for man powered version of VTOL. This challenge does prove the huge limitation of human body. To win the AHS Sikorsky Prize, the helicopter must have a flight duration of 60 seconds and reaching an altitude of 3 meters (9.8 feet), with the center point of the aircraft hovering over a 10-by-10-meter (33 by 33 ft) square.

To design man powered flying VTOL without propellers seems crazy in anyone's eyes. Our research in anti-gravity, on the other hand shows the potential human body can offer enough power for anti-gravity. This can be achieved by Blue Energy Buoyancy Engine (BEBE).

Our goal in this challenge is to provide solutions based on Blue Energy Thermal Engine (BETE) and Blue Energy Buoyancy Engine (BEBE) innovations to design VTOL aircraft. In this challenge, energy source comes from the pilot only. It is for those who has the will to challenge our physical limit while thinks outside the conventional knowledge. Our book is the best resource to understand why this is not fantasy.

It is time to design VTOL without the clumsy propellers. This event requires man powered flying craft to take off and land vertically with anti-gravity engine: BEBE. Based on our calculation, pilot will have enough power to supply sufficient energy. BEBE will be the propulsion system to manage dynamic levitation as well as forward propulsion. Ultra light weight, streamline fuselage encapsulates pilot within the VTOL vehicle. We expect an athletic pilot with long endurance body type, can make easy take off and fair distance of flight trip. With our initial calculation, taking off from the ground requires high power output from the pilot. Though it is still within a strong athletic body's capacity, for example, less than 500 watts of power. This jet craft, while potentially pilot power and engine propulsion limitation is big enough to offset air drag at supersonic speed (700 to 800 Newton), our goal is to test whatever speed might be achieved in this project. Jet vehicle requires careful fuselage design to limit the air drag from a few areas, for example, the body shape, cross sectional area. Calculation convinces us that it is not impossible.

The main objective of this challenge is to prove a simple fact: anti-gravity energy consumption can be very small. If we can design a man powered high speed VTOL, then the rest technologies must be inferior, which is due to the whole technologies platform has been grossly wrong. The future can thus be redesigned based on this possibility. We can live efficiently if we adopt such version of transport system to design our cities, our towns, our villages and the way our life being managed by various infrastructure. Flying cars can be the main frame of transport system for our future colonies on the Moon and Mars.
